Welcome Back

I hope you had a wonderful summer vacation.  It 's hard to believe that our summer vacation is over and we must once again rise before the sun is up. I am delighted to have met each of you, some for the first time and for others it is a renewing of acquintances.

I  had a wonderful time relaxing in the sun, visiting family and friends and reading all the books I didn't have time to read during the school year.  Hopefully you found time to read not only the required book, but several others just for the pure pleasure of immersing yourself in a good read.  If not, there is still time to enjoy a great book  - think book reports, one per semester.

Don't forget to check the link below if you need information on how to complete your summer reading assignments.

NOTE TO PARENTS: NINTH AND TENTH GRADE SUMMER READING ASSIGNMENTS

Please click on the link below, and then on the grade specific link for your summer reading assignments. Although the summer reading MUST be completed by the FIRST day of school (Wednesday, September 7), the summer reading assignments are not due until Friday, September 16th. However, your student may earn EXTRA CREDIT if he or she turns in the reading assignment on the first day of school (9/7/05).

I will record the EXTRA CREDIT points, and return the papers / books to your student.  We will be discussing the book during this week and the next.  If after our discussions your student wishes to rework any part of the assignment that was turned in on the first day of school, they may do so.  However, if he or she is satisfied with the initial work turned in, then on Friday, the 16th he / she can resubmit the work for a grade.
